A mod consist of converting official texture in something else on a map. https://trackmania.exchange/forums/12/mods

A never used an external program to create items so i cant help in this side. https://item.mania.exchange/threads/view/5/mesh-modeler-tutorials?page=-1 i quote eyebo : "There's no "NadeoImporter" tool for TM2020, so you'd have to import to TM2 first... and then get the mesh into Mesh Modeler so you could export a crystal. And then you can import that crystal into TM2020."

Ok, thanks.

What's mods?

I tried to create items with 3d program, but i cant import this with Uplay game app. Maybe, I haven't all files game in carpet. Also maybe I havent install game on same unit HDD.

I'm maybe wrong but custom textures arent allowed yet. So use nadeo ones or use "mods" to convert nadeo ones into something else ;)

Yes you need to use Openplanet ;)

Yes, I use an external texture to this.

This message only say if you download map or item, person haven't texture.

Have u make ur own texture on your bloc?

New materials trackmania 2020

Hello,

I'm new on Trackmania. I create new blocks with new material. When I try to save map, game says this object don't incrustate on this. New textures need on PC client to watch it.

If I publishing this map. Have I problem new blocks?

2MB Limit

I wanted to turn a map into full ice by creating custom blocks and applying ice to dirt and so on. But you quickly exceed this 2MB limit and then only people with the blocks can play this map.

Is there any tricks to exceed this limit? How do the RPG servers do this, i think they often exceed this limit. I have a dedicated server, just no idea what and if there is something to do there.

Thanks for any hints! Flink

There are a few for TM2020. See the links at the top of this post: https://trackmania.exchange/threads/201/tutorial-how-to-apply-a-texture-mod?page=-1

And of course if you're talking about TM2, those can be found on ManiaPark: http://www.maniapark.com/liste_mod.php?game=1

You can use the NadeoImporter and ConvertAssistant to get make an item for TM2 using some external tools.

But instead of going into TM2, use the Mesh Modeler inside TM2020 to import the .Mesh.Gbx into a new item. The UVs will be kept, but you'll need to select the relevant faces and reapply new materials.
