2MB Limit

I wanted to turn a map into full ice by creating custom blocks and applying ice to dirt and so on. But you quickly exceed this 2MB limit and then only people with the blocks can play this map.

Is there any tricks to exceed this limit? How do the RPG servers do this, i think they often exceed this limit. I have a dedicated server, just no idea what and if there is something to do there.

Thanks for any hints! Flink

There are a few for TM2020. See the links at the top of this post: https://trackmania.exchange/threads/201/tutorial-how-to-apply-a-texture-mod?page=-1

And of course if you're talking about TM2, those can be found on ManiaPark: http://www.maniapark.com/liste_mod.php?game=1

You can use the NadeoImporter and ConvertAssistant to get make an item for TM2 using some external tools.

But instead of going into TM2, use the Mesh Modeler inside TM2020 to import the .Mesh.Gbx into a new item. The UVs will be kept, but you'll need to select the relevant faces and reapply new materials.

Not for the moment (as i know) its impossible to do a triger that is not a checkpoint/multilap/start/finish so impossible to edit a ring and change the effects of it.

Texture packs

are there already texture packs or are some coming ?

Booster down rings

Is it possible ?

Current Meta for Creating New Blocks/Items in TM2020?

I'm trying to figure out what the current workflow is for getting custom meshes and textures into TM2020. I have some ideas for tracks I want to make, and I have professional modeling and texturing tools, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get that stuff into TM2020?

Do you still have to import everything into TM2 first, then export from there and import to TM2020? Has someone come up with a better workflow yet or a better tool? Additionally, if I get custom models in, how do I get custom textures to embed in my map for custom objects/items?

Thanks you :)

yes it's a small bug on the tree element. I'll fix it somewhere this month :)
